Corporate Mentalist: Love My Job!
A few times each summer I’m hired to make a weekend trip to the San Juan’s to entertain boating rendezvous attendees. Boaters are invited by the manufacturer to bring their boats or yachts to Roche Harbor for a weekend getaway and to enjoy a corporate mentalist show. During their stay, they tie up to the dock and spend days and nights socializing with friends while learning a thing or two about boat care and maintenance. One thing that makes the trip so exciting for me is traveling by seaplane via Kenmore Air out of Lake Union in Seattle, WA.
Day 1:
Thursday evening kicked off with a social hour in the Bocce Ball gardens. More than 200 guests enjoyed food, wine, and close-up magic by Yours Truly. I attempted to record some video clips, but unfortunately, the excitement caused me to hit the wrong button! Sadly, no footage was captured.
Day 2:
Friday’s festivities began with a cocktail hour on the dock where I entertained the guests with more close-up magic. The crowd then made their way to the beach to enjoy dinner, a raffle, and a show. Approximately 450 boaters packed into a large tent on the beach for dinner, drinks, and my corporate mentalist show. My performance went off without a hitch!
These trips to the San Juan Islands are another example of what I love so much about my profession as a Seattle area magician. The places I see and the people I meet are what makes this job so rewarding. I look forward to many returns to San Juan and numerous other destinations for years to come.
