Does Nate come from a family of magicians?2026-02-25T21:48:26+00:00

Discovering Magic Without a Family of Magicians

No—Nate is the first magician and mentalist in his family, which is not a family of magicians. He discovered magic at 12 while living in Washington, after finding a magic show near his house that he’d visit on weekends. Later, he began working there, demonstrating tricks for sale to visiting magicians who came in to buy magic.

As you can imagine, becoming one of the nation’s best mentalists is difficult and requires years of practice and dedication. Nate’s sleight-of-hand skills are now second nature, but for years he practiced 4-8 hours a day to improve his talent. However, the technical aspect is merely a portion of what makes an illusionist a great entertainer. Nate’s ability to interact with the audience and connect with spectators is what truly sets him apart.

Traditional magic typically relies on props and sleight of hand for classic “now you see it, now you don’t” effects. Nate spent years performing as a magician, but shifted to mentalism because it’s more cerebral and thought-provoking. As audiences have become more familiar with standard magic tricks, they’ve grown increasingly drawn to the unexpected impact and sophistication of a skilled mentalist.
